Lighting the Way by TLCDigitalArt Lighting the Way by TLCDigitalArt
To be honest this is me, trying to learn how to use Point Lights in Poser. But curious what you all think? Feedback always welcome. :)

I've been waiting for just the right moment to favorite this one. It's still a few minutes away. Hm. Maybe I'll go get some coffee. ... Mn. This is pretty good coffee. Okay. Just a second. Be patient. ... and ... now!

You leave me speechless my dear Tina. It's the most beautiful thing I could see your beautiful works. She can be my lighting in the dark. Beautiful scenery is wonderful perfection and the light is perfect. She is an angel, delicate and strong at the same time. Congratulations my little redhead is magnificent in it I can see you. A large full Angel of Light and Life.

Thank you Jorge. I would hope she can light your way, I know of your difficulties and I cannot tell you how much it means to me that you are still here, still supporting us all. Sends you a squeeze.

You know the more I look at this render, I realize I can see the orange glow of the lantern on her neck and her hand both which is why I think her face looks brighter?

Love it, it's beautiful. The lighting looks very realistic to me, it's given her skin a soft glow.

They really seem to be able to add some ambiance. Once I get them figured a bit more that it :)

They work great for magic users, or fires. I used one here, inside of an orb. [link]

I bumped up the ambient on the orb to a glow, turned transparency to 99, and put light inside colored red. Resized the light to a bit smaller, and took the brightness down just a little bit.

Tina she is so charming. Great scene. I love the lantern's candle light. That tree is wonderful too but you are always good at backgrounds. Just a little thought from my side is that with such a wonderful candle light I think it would have shown up more if the other lighting was dimmed just a bit. The glow from the lantern would have created a little more magic like it does reflecting on her hand..beautiful work dear.

Hmmm point taken and perhaps my next shot I will use the lantern light as more of the overall lighting and less accent. Everyone seems to think the shot would have been improved in that way. Thank you Shelley :)

I presume more than a simple point light was used?
Image is good, but not sure of the overall lighting - it's bright but the lantern would seem to presume it should be gloomy?

Yes more than a point light was used, the point light was simply meant to cast a glow across the portions of her body it hit. As to gloomy, wasn't my intent per se. Simply a fantasy shot in the woods. :)

That is an utter stunner. The pose is wonderful.

But of course I'm going to spoil it with a teensy weensy 'but'... :D

To my limited eye, her top seems to be 'stuck on', rather than a piece of clothing around her. Don't know if it's the contrast due to the light placement or what.

Perhaps simply contrast due to the light. It is an outfit, Medusa I believe it's called and I had to work to get it to fit well :) But thank you for the kind words.

Excellent image ! the lighting is really great even if it looks like a bit 'unnatural'.
I mean she is supposed to be lit by the lamp she's holding in her hand, so the closest parts of the body should cast more light than the rest. Here, his face catches too much light, more than the shoulder, for example ... imho ... well, I mean ... just my two cent ...

Anyway, Tina, i must confess that I prefer your renders in poser, it seems that, even if your previous images were excellent, you are now at a higher level.
Really can't wait to see your next images
